A 12mm gypsum plaster board is a type of building material commonly used for interior walls and ceilings. It is made from gypsum, a naturally occurring mineral, which is then processed and formed into flat boards with a thickness of 12mm.
These boards are often referred to as drywall, sheetrock, or plasterboard, and are widely used in construction due to their ease of installation, fire resistance, and acoustic insulation properties. The 12mm thickness of the board provides better structural support and durability compared to thinner variants, making it ideal for areas that require more robust walls or ceilings.
Gypsum plaster boards are also known for their ability to absorb sound and provide thermal insulation, which can help reduce noise levels and improve energy efficiency in buildings. Additionally, they are easy to decorate and finish, allowing for a variety of design options.
1.Fire Resistant Board
The appearance is pink, and is mainly made of building gypsum added with an appropriate amount of lightweight materials, inorganic fireproof fiber materials, and additives, and pressed onto the upper layer of the paper. When used as partition and ceiling, it has strong fire resistance performance.
2. Non-combustible
When a gypsum board comes in contact with fire, it starts the process called calcination. Calcination is the process by which the board dehydrates, helping it to form an additional layer. It makes the wall non-combustible for several hours and always remains at room temperature.
3.Damp Proof / Waterproof Gypsum Board
The green appearance is mainly made of building gypsum with an appropriate amount of fiber reinforcing agent and waterproof additives.
Suitable for wet and semi exposed areas, with a tileable surface.
Scope of application: kitchen, bathroom, laundry, garage, bathroom, laundry, humid environment, etc.
4. Acoustic properties
Gypsum board has an inherent degree of acoustic insulation. These are more effective compared to conventional walls of the same thickness. This is because they contain sound interruptions and reduce reverberation.
For example, a plasterboard of around 60 mm is as effective as an 85 mm masonry wall in terms of sound insulation. Users can also choose to use acoustic gypsum board to further improve performance.
5. Thermal performance
Gypsum boards contain water of crystallization. They also contain cavities that allow the user to achieve the right balance between humidity and temperature. If you add fiberglass, it will further prevent fire as the fiberglass helps maintain the integrity of the board. The additional insulation acts as a vapor barrier and helps control humidity in the room.
