Cost Reality

Moving from a one-hour to a two-hour assembly roughly doubles board consumption over the same wall area, plus extra labour, longer screws and additional joint treatment. On a large project that is a real budget line. The rating should come from the fire strategy first, and the cheapest tested assembly that satisfies it should then be selected — not the other way round.

What Inspections Actually Catch
